Yea..sounds like they are really trying.....

I'm thinking the Nats actually give them a better series this weekend. I think the Rockies still win 2 of 3, but you know if the teams split the first 2, Max Scherzer is going to want to pitch in that final game on Sunday the competitor that he is, and if I were a Rockies fan, I certainly wouldn't want that, especially if the Dodgers win the first 2 in San Fran.

Good news for the Rockies: Unless the Nationals sweep the Rockies AND the Cards sweep the Cubs, the Roxs are guaranteed to be playing after Sunday, so as long as they don't totally choke, they'll get at least 1 extra game. May not be for the division, but where they were earlier in this season and even a month ago I'm sure Roxs fans would have signed up for that.

You and I made these comments a week ago. What a great week it has been!

Cubs defeat the Cardinals, so the Rockies just have to win 1 of their 3 games this weekend to clinch a playoff birth.

Rocktober for the second year in a row! Rockies beat the Nats 5-2, and the final out was none other Bryce Harper. Struck out looking.

Rockies are playoff bound! Two years in a row is a big step forward for this franchise.

Congrats to the Rockies and their fans. I'm watching LA-SF where it is 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th. If the Giants win then Colorado has clinched at least a tie for the division.

Thanks. I see the Dodgers managed a 3-1 win so this thing is going to come down to the wire. The Rockies need a win and a loss by the Dodgers and the West is theirs. They’re hot now but the Dodgers aren’t going away without a fight.

Evidently.

I'm shocked to learn that the Rockies, since 1993, have never been to back-to-back playoffs? Hmmm. Also, they've never been N.L. West champions?

Well they can do it the best way, just win out.

So, misery truly does love company.

Bring it on.

Go Rox.

True on both: all playoff appearances so far have been as wild cards. I also want to see them win out so they can reach 92 wins on the regular season, tying their franchise high set in 2009.

Scherzer only wanting to pitch if he can play spoiler is kind of a douche move. Either make the start or don't. It's not like the trash heap Nationals are going anywhere in October. It'd be a damn shame if he went out there and got tattooed for a half-dozen runs or so.
