Whaddayathinkadis: Joe Girardi out as Yankees manager | New York Post

Damn. I liked Girardi. He knew how to guide this young team.
I bet other teams will scramble for him.

No Joe? Say it ain't so. I get New Yorkers have high expectations, but I liked how Girardi could utilize different players especially the youth. I respected Joe Torre, but when the team grew younger and he kept playing the aging veterans—even veterans I admired yet still couldn't hack it like they used to—I'll admit to being annoyed.

Sounds like the Yankees want to go back to the old formula of looking at the numbers, which lead to guys always swinging for the fences than playing strategic baseball.

Best of luck to him.

One game from the World Series with a team that was supposed to be too young and pretty bad. Wow, Hal isn't too bright.

Keep in mind Joe was in the final year of his contract so he might have other ideas too. I liked Girardi, I think he was a very even keel guy.

I suspect Brett Gardner will be traded in the off season. Let him collect his golden glove and move him down the road.

In case you thought Aaron Judge's strikezone was not a problem, here is an excellent article

Aaron Judge's normal person-sized strike zone - River Avenue Blues

Puts the strikezone in perspective. For an average hitter, about a third of the pitches thrown at the knee level are called strikes. For Judge, it's one half. That's a huge difference!

Default Giancarlo Joins Yanks

Outfield of Giancarlo, Gardner, and Judge?

Who next .... Harper?

I guess that if Boone doesn't win the WS in 4 straight, he'll get canned.

A 7 game WS win should earn Boone a 1 year extension.

However, any manager who can't lead the heavily-funded Yankees past the Orioles, Jays, and Rays EVERY year should not be a MLB manager. With or without Stanton/Judge.

The Yankees had pretty derpy squads between 2013 and 2016, the fact that each one of those teams finished with more than 84 wins is a miracle. Especially that dreadful 2013 squad. Chris Stewart and Jayson Nix were regular starters for that team. Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
