1. Going to game 7 squeezes as much profits out of it as possible.
2. Wouldn't it be such a wonderful story for the Astros to win after their city was destroyed by a hurricane. Yeah a little too wonderful if you ask me. It'll be almost as good as if you wrote a script.
So some unidentified fixer went to the Dodgers and said "Listen, we can make more money if it goes seven games, and it will make for a nice story if Houston wins. So instead of trying to win, we want you two teams to exchange wins until game seven, and then you guys take a dive. Any problems with that?"
Before I say anything and to make sure the OP is still reading this thread, what was your opinion of the 1986 World Series in terms of a secret predetermined outcome?

It's not even hard to rig baseball. All you need is a few pitchers and a coach to go along with your scheme and it's done. You know people will keep their mouth shut when fortune and glory is at hand.

You mean you don't care. Comparing circumstances is usually an essential element when investigating suspicious activity.
Believe whatever you want I suppose if this series goes 7, but please don't come on public forums passing off your conspiracy opinions with weak evidence, especially considering that it paints a sport in one of the worst possible ways.

Houston was "destroyed" by the Hurricane? That's news to me, and I live here.

It's currently being rebuilt. You say all that TV footage of water up to the second story of houses didn't destroy them? Looks like the city was destroyed for at least a week.

I don't think anyone cares, unless they're a sports nerd.
