Of course you are, you're from California. Would you be less upset if the Dodgers weren't in the World Series? Be honest.
Yes I would still be upset. I already wrote, that I would prefer he didn't get a suspension at all, if all he is going to get is 5 days when no one cares. I would feel the same way if a Dodger did it. And I am being totally honest.
My SIL is Japanese and my grandson is half Japanese. You don't know how embarrassed I was to that gesture. I wanted to turn the TV even on my Dodgers.
I am wondering why this gesture is considered racist and horrid enough to suspend someone or fire them, but people can spout dumb blond jokes all day long. Or take a gander at the thread about all the blond "bimbos" on Fox News. And yet no one loses their livelihood over that.
I've had people say much worse things directed to people like myself for being a blond, or a Texan, or a conservative.
Now I'm not saying people should get in trouble for those comments. I'm saying that people say a lot worse things than what Gurriel did on a daily basis, and it's considered all in good fun. People need to stop getting offended over everything.
Racial gestures, all in good fun. WOW That is so sad.

Really??? Lets let him decide on his punishment, I bet he takes the 5 days and loss of money any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.
We don't have to let Gurriel decide. The League Office has already made the decision for him, and they decided to assess a punishment that actually has some financial impact on the player, a goal I know you must share.

Actually I don't, money is nothing to a professional athlete. But what's done is done.
I think someone said it will cost him 300K for those 5 games he will miss, and the club will give his money to tolerance camp or something, what a scam.
I think a more suitable punishment more in line with what he did...
He must eat a big salad bowl full of rice with chop sticks. It would take him more than 5 days to finish it. And he has to eat the pieces that fall on the floor too.
Gurriel should not have played. MLB is spineless letting him play in the Series. Complicity to racism won this game. MLB played favorites and continues to perpetuate institutional racism in the Divided States of America.
I basically agree with what you saying , if Major League Baseball would have suspended him one game of the World Series he still would have played all 7 games of the World Series.
Houston has so much offense and POP that it doesn't really matter that much either way.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to have to manage to get a little bit more offense to win this World Series.

OK, enough on this subject.
Fair enough. I just don’t get being offended by it, but I wouldn’t be offended if someone called me a cracker, honky, white trash, or whatever is supposed to be offensive. The only people who can offend me are people I care about, not strangers. But I know that’s not the norm.

Hmm, did I say that? Uh, NO! Perhaps you should read again.
