With the exception of FOX on saturday we have not had a free TV game here in Phoenix for at least 5 years. The game is suffering and not being on free TV is not going to help build a fan base.

Cubs and White Sox are on WGN. If you're a fan of other teams you need access to FOX Sports and ESPN.

Baseball is just not as popular any more with so many other alternatives, so the local broadcast stations are not going to carry them. They are going to stick to programming that attracts the highest paying sponsors. The current lack of big stars makes it even worse. Here, the Mariners are on Root Sports, and the only other games are on the MLB Network, ESPN or Fox Sports. They all require cable or satellite.

Cubs i think are on the local ABC affilliate in Wichita this season for a few games and next year they are on their own network with no Over the Air options.. Its the way of the world now with MLB..

Many teams offer a free MLB TV subscription to season ticket holders. Split a pair of seats with some friends.

Not only that, but T-Mobile offers that to it's customers, but there is about a week where you have to sign up for it before the season stars. We signed up for the 55+ 2 line deal for $70 everything included. Hopefully they continue to offer this in the future. Unfortunately the home team is blacked out .

later than the satellite radio.

Use to watch baseball every Saturday but Mediacom stopped carrying fox so now I have yet another reason not to have cable or a tv set.
