Zack's last 3 starts...24 IP, 1 ER, 0.38 ERA. He seems like a fine young man.
I am sure he is a great guy. Irrelevant, but I am sure he is just adorable.

Unfortunately the White Sox are just too inconsistent to put anything together, at this point all you can hope for in a free fall from the D and the Twinkies.

Maybe next year...

Oh ohhhhhh...
KC up 8 - 0 through the top of the 6th. While your lads seem to have an uncanny knack of pulling these out I think the lead will be back to 4 games with the next 3 here this weekend.

Tigers are 4 - 11 (.267) since the start of 2008 in the Dome and 28 - 59 (.321) this decade. Better check to see if your post-season hotel reservations are refundable.

Greinke left after the 5th, after being hit in the arm during the 4th.

It looks like the Tigers cant put the AL Central away, the Twins and White Sox are still in the race!

Its still a possability for them to win the Central, but I think the Tigers will take it. 4 and a half games is alot when you consider the fact that there is less than 20 games left in the season.

The year the Tigers went to the World Series, 2006, they did so as a Wild Card. This is because they blew the division to the Twins late in the year (the Twins then made their annual immediate punchless exit from the playoffs).

That year, the Tigers had the wild card to save them. This year they don't.

The Tigers have 16 games left, and a 4 game lead on the Twins. They play the Twins 7 more times. The Tigers are more than capable of blowing this.

If the Tigers go to the dome and get swept this weekend, you can stick the proverbial fork in them. We will see what happens.

It's make or break for the Twins starting tonight against Detroit in the Dome. The Tigers hardly ever play well under the teflon roof. They've won only one game there this year and that took 16 innings. Should the Twins split this series, the season I believe is over. They need a sweep or at the very least 3 out of 4 to keep hopes alive.

I believe it's already over for the White Sox. Odds are pretty good all 3 contenders will play close to .500 ball thru the rest of the season. Too many games for the White Sox to makeup with their mediocre team. The Twins and Tigers are mediocre too, yet 4 games to makeup is a possibility.

3 game set this weekend, 4 games left between the two in Detroit a week from this Monday.

tonights match-up with record against opp. this year...
DT - Porcello 1-1 / 4.91 ERA
MN - Duensing 0 - 0 / 1.08 ERA

Saturday's
DT - Verlander 0 -1 / 5.11 ERA
MN - Pavano 4 - 0 / 1.48 ERA

here's a strange one...
Greinke's starts against the 2 teams this year...
Detroit- 5
Minnesota- 0

My bad. I got the 3 game series mixed up with the 4 game series with Detroit. A very good start last night for the Twins. Duensing was outstanding, especially for being a rookie mid season call up.

There's still hope
