The Phillies will be fascinating to watch.

That offense is really, really good with Nick castellanos & Kyle Schwarber. However, the pitching & defense is really, really bad. I could see them scoring like 900 runs but not making the playoffs because they allow 975 runs. Or I can also see them losing a bunch of close games and missing the playoffs with like a +130 run differential. This team needs way more pitching before I consider them a legit playoff contender even with the expanded field.

Twins with the signing of Correa look to be a player in the central and the AL this year. Rangers seem to be interested in Story. Already basically having 2 SS on the roster this winter in Marcus Semien & Corey Seager, I'm not sure what their use is, but that's another team that could be like the Phillies.....really exciting because they can score a lot of runs and allow a lot of runs in the process.

Alec Bohm.. I like the kid, but he is a liability in the field. Short of Realmuto and Segura.. Everyone is a negative defensive WAR. Gregorius was awful last year in the field and at the plate. Hoskins.. So streaky. I mean, he'll hit 10 HR's in 5 games.. then go 50 ABs with 5 hits.

I expect a good year from Wheeler.. And a solid year from Nola

Past that.. the rotation and bullpen are question marks. The questions being how bad will they be?

I rather hate that they kept Herrera and got rid of McCutchen. While Cutch's best years are certainly in his rear view.. He brought leadership. and while he didn't really hit great.. He was very clutch in where he got the hits.

.
On full display for at least a month with Harper unable to play the field.

Delighted Mets did not go after these 2! In fairness, Schwarber looks like a Gold Glover relative to Castellanos.
