That's pretty much the issue. Service time and a salary bump to the leagues minimum, which would also raise salaries for average players.
The owners would of been content with an extension of what just expired.

Billionaire owners fighting millionaire players about money they get paid to play a game.........

Covid killed a season, I didn't attend a single game in 19, 20 or 21. I didn't even watch a full game in 20 or 21.

Keep fighting and watch your fans not come back............

I couldn't have said it better myself....

At least, I listened to Astros games on the computer, and hope to again in '22 (It's a long story...). We're all looking ahead to Spring Training, and we'd like to have it on time.

They've been doing that *every* September with the rosters for decades, mainly calling up MiLB prospects for a cup of coffee.

Yes, and I like it. However, in 2021 the rosters only expanded to 28, which I think is not enough.

MLB needs a minimum salary per team, just as hockey has.

They have one, it's $14,262,500.

Ok, I don't feel like doing the math. Is that league minimum times roster size?

They had better get to the table and figure things out. Fans are STILL ticked about '94 and.. They cannot afford another stoppage.

Completely agree! The owners better compromise or else!

This, pretty much.

I am a cord cutter. I’m totally shut out of the MLB team I’ve followed since I was a little kid. I can watch most of my NFL games for my AFC team for $5/month on Paramount+. I can watch any game for free on Yahoo on my iPhone or iPad. The cheapest way to get my MLB team is $70/month. Nope. They’ve lost my eyeballs for TV revenue for life. The big market MLB teams have a captive cable sports channel.

I switched to English Premier League soccer. No commercials. The match is 2 hours with a 15 minute break at halftime. The relentless commercial breaks and 4 hour games of MLB are pretty much unwatchable.
