Melky will be ok.

He's walking 10% of the time compared to 8% in his career
He's striking out 14% compared to 12.9% career
His line drive rate IS down a bit 16.5% compared to 19% career
His plate discipline numbers are right in line with his career averages
His contact rate is right at his career average

Only difference in Melky is his BABIP. .228 this year .288 career
He's doing everything the same as he has ever done, the defense is just catching them so far.

ok, evened 2-game series with mets, hope we sweep reds. However, they're having a great season so far, and they are even leading the cardinals in their division.

oh by the way, it's so nice that troy glaus is hitting again for us.

and nate mclouth passed the .200 batting average mark yesterday. wo-ho.

Good news is the Braves are back at .500, the even better news is that Heyward is still beasting.

He's on fire.

He'll regress.

His ISO right now (measure of raw power) is .288. His highest ISO in the minors was .259. That'll come down.

He's currently hitting .288/.406/.576 (BA/OBP/SLG)
He'll probably end up the season somewhere around .280/.367/.481

Definitely enjoy it while you can

I was listening to the game on the road and it was 9-3 in the 7th and I was like, "This is getting old." I get some things done and I turn on the computer to see how bad they got beat but then I see: ATL 10-CIN 9...Whoa, they have some fight in them, I hope they can keep it up.

I enjoy your stats Fili, thanks for posting them. The part that I have underlined is cause for worry because he does have family in New Jersey (he was born in Ridgewood, NJ) and money talks. I have a couple of friends from NY and they are sure that he would not sign a long-term deal if the Braves offered.
