ZiPS likes him to finish at .283 30 100.

Buyers remorse has been averted this year, but I am sure the Angels will be having second thoughts in a couple years if Albert's numbers continue to show decline (BA, and OPS has declined for 5 straight years, HR and RBI in 4 straight). It is starting to look like the errosion of an aging ballplayer to me... and with 9 years left I would be worried what he will be producing in 3-5 years! (His salary number escalates a lot as the contract ages too, per baseball reference)

Very true but Arte got his billion dollars for television so money wise Arte is way ahead of the game if Albert is a bust. The only ones that lose are the fans.

Angels' first base types went 5 for 9 with 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 1 walk, 4 runs and 8 RBI today.

Kendrys Morales was responsible for both home runs and he hit both in the 6th inning. One from each side of the plate

Not to mention he's hitting .411/.602 which is 86% better than the average major league hitter.

Mike Trout's 21st birthday is in 2 days. He'll be able to buy a beer.

He might buy one to celebrate his inclusion in the discussion of the best player in major league baseball

One of the local radio guys here made a funny observation that Trout has a "late 90s baseball look." I think we all know what he is refering to. Seriously, looking at him, it is crazy to think how young he is. Is it unfair to Mike Trout to bring this issue up? Maybe, but MLB players do not get the benefit of the doubt with this type of situation, he can thank his predecessors for that.

Default Angels' pathetic bullpen

Check out these Angels' bullpen stats during their just concluded 10 game road trip which ended this afternoon in Oakland (4 games vs. TEX, 3 games vs. CHI and 3 games vs. OAK):

4-6 in road trip (2-2 in TEX, 1-2 in CHI, 1-2 in OAK)

* Angels held lead in 5th inning or later in 9 of 10 games while Angels scored 70 runs
* 10.54 era
* 34 Runs scored against bullpen- 32 of them were earned
* 41 hits
* 10 BBs
* 11 HRs in 27 1/3 innings
* Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher still has a job as of now.

Angels could have had a 9-1 road trip record and been right there with the Rangers. This trip killed the Angels.

-Cheers.
