I watched the three games with the A's and understand why you are complaining. At one point today the A's announcers became absorbed by the subject and were offering the same sorts of failure stats as you provide above. Then the A's bullpen was awfully damn shaky themselves, just barely holding on for the 9-8 win.

It was a rare warm day in the Bay Area and the ball was really flying off the bat today...seven homeruns in the game, two by the A's and five by the Angels. The home run Morales hit in the fifth inning was really odd, the pitch from Straily seemed to jam him, just above the letters and off the plate inside...but then there is this little lighting quick flash of the bat and kaboom...there it went.

Morales may be using an old bat discarded by Norm Cash or Graig Nettles.

Not to mention he's hitting .411/.602 which is 86% better than the average major league hitter.

Mike Trout's 21st birthday is in 2 days. He'll be able to buy a beer.

He might buy one to celebrate his inclusion in the discussion of the best player in major league baseball

Well I'm sure that we can agree that that it would be a shock if he didn't get Rookie Of The Year and I expect a strong running for MVP, Gold Glove and especially the Silver Slugger awards.

It looks as if Trout will exceed most of Fred Lynn's rookie numbers.

Mike Trout does it again

This time he takes a home run away from Prince Fielder for the final out of the game.

Oh yeah. He also hit a lead off home run for the Angels.

Default Hamilton signs with the Angels

The Angels have signed Hamilton to a 5 year deal worth in the neighborhood of 125 million.

There is a huge amount tied up between him and Pujols as far as money. I wonder how far their pockets go? As a Cardinal fan, I thought the decision to let Pujols go was smart and the Angels will see in the next 3-5 years and beyond how their pricey long term gamble with Pujols will be a bust. His best years are behind him. Now with Hamilton, they gamble 5 years on a guy who I guess they think will help them over the hump in the West. I don't see it.
