Morales led the Angels in almost every offensive category...they're screwed.

I don't understand why every walk off is celebrated like a WS clinching win anyway.

I was surprised as well, maybe he felt with LaRussa retiring and leaving StL on a WS was a good time to go.

Al needs to go to the AL. He's 32...play first base for like 4-5 more years, then DH. Makes perfect sense.

Fielder needs to stay in the NL just so that he can play first everyday, to keep his weight in check.

wow. i guess i was naive in assuming that he'd ultimately re-sign with the cardinals.

but with a second world series title under his belt, a chance to DH later in his career, and tony larussa having retired, i guess he figured there was no compelling reason to stay in st. louis unless the cards totally outbid everyone.

call me old-fashioned, but i'm a little sad that an all-time great like pujols isn't going to spend his entire career with one team. and i'm not even a cardinals fan.
