Yeah, he won a World Series...about 20 years ago, but what has he done since?

He managed a 116 win team in 2001...they blew it in the playoffs.

He managed teams that included Ken Griffey Jr and Randy Johnson in their prime...with a young A-Rod. What did they ever accomplish?

He could do absolutely nothing, NOTHING, with the Rays but collect a big paycheck. Joe Maddon has done SO much more...

Here he is with the Cubs....down 1 game and losing game 2 pretty badly....

Face it, he's overrated. I wouldn't want him managing my team.

I don't think he should take the blame here, the Cubs just seem destined to never get to the World Series ever again. He has at least turned that team around and had them successful the last two years.

It's always been said that managers aren't the ones who go out there on the field.

I think Lee Elia is the best Cubs manager ever:

I think you meant Joe, but in fairness Joe Torre has managed teams with rather high payrolls lately. Money doesn't guarantee championships though and a manager can definitely bring the most out of his players, and Torre has definitely done well in his first year with the Dodgers. Seems like Ramirez really helped carried that team though since getting there.
