Has the travel and TV schedule become so important that umpires and MLB will play a WS game in the pouring rain? It's not just drizzling...it's raining. WTF is going on...baseball isn't meant to be played in this kind of weather.

Get real MLB.

This is what happens when TV revenue rules over all. It is idiotic to play in 40 degree weather in a downpour, and I am surprised it isn't snowing! When the World Series got into November a few years back, I just shook my head.

Ridiculous, isn't it? How could such complete idiocy come to pass? Hmm, be right back after I check something briefly. Yep, that's what I thought. Bud Selig is still the commissioner. That explains quite a bit.

Maybe I'm a minority in my opinion, but I was never in favor of extending the LCS to a 7 game series, and when you add the division series in as well, it's just silly. One of the great things about baseball used to be that it wasn't like hockey and basketball with half the league making the playoffs and the playoffs taking a month or longer.

4 teams make the play-offs in each league compared to 8 in each conference for the NBA - some with losing records! Don't think there is any comparison there.

This game should have been stopped after the 5th inning. The only reason the Rays were able to tie the game was because of the weather conditions....Upton would have been out on that routine grounder to Rollins, only the wet ball slipped out of Rollins' hand. This should have been stopped with the Phils leading 2-1, and then resumed from that point on today or whenever the weather clears up. What a cheap way for the Rays to tie the game.

I agree the game should have been stopped, but you can't blame the Rays for playing the game as the umpires and league told them. Don't forget that the hitters also had to deal with the weather and running on the wet infield. Your complaint should be to the league, not the Rays... nothing cheap at all on their part. The Phillies infielders are major leaguers...maybe they should have made the play?

Bud Selig is an idiot. He stumbled through the press conference afterwards and came across horribly. If they want to be fair they would start the game at the beginning of the sixth with the Phils up 2-1. There's no way that the Rays should get a half inning in those conditions and the Philies don't. It's not very fair. They should have at least finished the sixth inning to have each team play six complete innings in those conditions. Acutally they shouldn't have played the game at all or started it two hours early. Selig blamed the groundskeepers and weather reports which was stupid and it didn't take a genius to know what was going to happen with the weather.

No, I'm not saying its the Rays' fault, I don't blame them. I'm blaming MLB and Selig. Selig blames the grounds crew, yet the umps said the grounds crew did an outstanding job given the circumstances.

I just watched the Channel 6 News weather forecast for Philly and they're calling for light sprinkles around game time, I hope they get it in tonight.
