True, anything can happen in the playoffs. I do believe that the Phillies are the best team in the NL, even better than the Dodgers. But if Lidge keeps blowing saves, it will be their downfall. The Phillies just lost two games they should have won in two straight days. That can't continue.
Lidge needs to either go on the DL for a while if he's nursing some type of injury...or do a Brett Myers rehab trip to Lehigh Valley to get his head straightened out. Madson can fill in at closer, now that we have Romero back, the bullpen will be fine. But we can't afford to keep trotting Lidge out there to blow saves.....if it wasn't for Lidge, the Phils very easily could have swept both the Dodgers and the Yankees.
They wont repeat. teams are prepared this time. Yeah they'll get in the playoffs. But they wont get away that easily.
Teams are "prepared" LOL
As though Milwaukee, LA and Tampa didn't know what they were doing last year? This is professional baseball the game is predicated on preparing, believe me Milwaukee, LA and TB didn't lose because they "weren't prepared".
Phillies doing great overall...however Brad Lidge needs to step his game up, we could've easily swept the Dodgers if it weren't for those last minute blowdowns. ARGGH at least we tied the series 2-2
