Giants outpitched the Braves in 3 of 4 games.

Are you sure you are only considering pitching?

Using the Defense Independent Component ERA (DICE) to measure the stats for each game we find:

Game 1 to the Giants
Giants = .22 (Lincecum was dominant)
Braves = 2.25

Game 2 to the Braves
Giants = 2.72
Braves = 2.36

Game 3 to the Giants
Giants = 2.11
Braves = 2.66

Game 4 to the Braves
Giants = 3.44 (the worst pitched game of the series. But still very good)
Braves = 2.43

So, it appears that the Braves and Giants each had two games where they pitched better than the other team. It should also be noted that the pitching for each team in the series was outstanding. Not surprising given that the Giants are not a great hitting team and the Braves were missing 2 of their better hitters

Cumulative
Giants = 2.16
Braves = 2.43

A slight edge to the Giants for the series, mostly on the strength of Lincecum's gem

I'm a newcomer to the SF area and I was thriled to attend a Giants game. The fans there at AT&T Park have so much spirit & now I am addicted to watching every game & I know all the players. GO GIANTS!

From Santa Cruz to SF?

Giants the most loudest fans and the most loyal. I now live in Houston and there are plenty of Giants fans.

Well enjoy this year, there is most likely only 5 or 6 more games left for Giants - Is it game time yet?

Phillies are expected to win it all. Giants are not, infact Giants were not even the pick from the media to win the division so we have nothing to lose.

Agree and with their pitching they can't be taken for granted, though still believe this is the phils year and their pitching and position players are better. Game Time!
