this is the latest on melo, seems kinda steep but im not a nets fan so LOL at them.

The Nuggets and Nets are engaged in 'advanced talks' on Carmelo Anthony, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.
The proposed deal would be for Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four future first rounders in exchange for Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Renaldo Balkman and Melvin Ely.
The two sides have the framework of a deal in place, but Anthony needs to be sold on an extension.
Anthony may meet with Mikhail Prokhorov, owner of the Nets, this weekend during the All-Star Game Weekend. Media reports for months have consistently suggested that Anthony strongly prefers playing for the Knicks or Bulls.
LMAO....so Melo would go to one of the worst teams in the league that is giving up a ton to get him.
So much for Melo ever getting a sniff past the first round in the east.
Seriously, four 1st rounders? Do the Nets think Anthony, Lopez and an aging Billups are good enough to compete soon whilst trading away their future?
If this was Lebron James instead of Melo, maybe I do it if I were the Nets. But few people consider Melo a #1, able to carry a team (he can be the #1 scorer, but that's not enough).
I hate this deal, and I watch the Nets (my son's a huge fan, but he's 9, so...)
They think that they can get Melo, keep Lopez and entice other stars to run to join them. I don't see it.
I'd rather see them keep Favors (who has shown some real flashes of what he can become - plus, he takes the heavy lifting of Lopez), deal Harris (not a huge fan) and pick up a young PG, and keep all their picks.
Carmelo Anthony has informed people close to him that he will not sign an extension with the Nets, according to sources.
Anthony has had a longstanding preference to play for the Knicks.
If the Knicks and Nuggets are unable to complete a trade, Anthony must still weigh his options of whether to risk not signing an extension with the looming uncertainty of the NBA's next collective bargaining agreement.
you know not really. mostly guys expecting to NOT be traded. guys like mo williams. some talk of tj ford but no teams mentioned more that they just want to get rid of him.
there is some talk that dwill wants to play in NYC in 2012 though.
I'd really like to see Golden State, only 4 games out despite the plethora of injuries they incurred earlier in the season, make a move for a big man. They have over 13mil in expiring contracts they could move in a deal but it doesn't seem like anyone is dealing. We badly need a back-to-the-basket PF/C in the mold of an Al Jefferson. Udoh and Wright just aren't developing fast enough!
Come on, Larry Riley!
