Lists of "bests in history" of anything are ridiculous since they are all too subjective. The man passed the "greatness" barrier with this championship and ceased to be merely "very good". Shouldn't that be enough?

I'm happy for the guy. He's a hard worker. He reminds me more of kevin McHale than Bird as far as his skill-set goes, though he's a better player than McHale was & almost as good as Bird.

Dirk may not be in the Top 20 in history, (really close) but he's in the top 5 currently considering skills, clutchness, his accomplishments, and his class. And while that same monkey jumps over on to LeBron and strangles him to death, I'd like to see Steve Nash pull a Dallas in 2011-12 and win a first title for himself and the franchise of the Phoenix Suns - Although I am a Mavs fan and would love to see them repeat.

Funny, but now that we have one I'm probably going to be kinder next season toward other teams who haven't won yet.

Probably.

The lesson Dallas learned in 2006 was that offense only carries you so far. Kidd, marion, chandler (in particular) and other new additions are ALL solid or better defensively and Dirk also worked on his defense.

Pheonix isn't going to be seeing a title with Nash, sorry, there just isn't the time left to rebuild at this stage. Perhaps he will sign somewhere in his later years like Kidd.
