Should NBA start it's season in December around Christmas day and ends in August. Hockey playoffs and NBA playoffs shouldn't be played at the same time, its just wrong.

Why should the NBA adjust?

The NHL is the less popular league. They should adjust their schedule, not the NBA.

I would rather watch basketball in the summer and hockey in the winter. Starting the NBA season around the Christmas break is better timing. Thanks Giving belong to football but Christmas could belong to the NBA.

Start at Christmas, end by the 4th of July, shorten the season to 70 games permanently.

From the end of July through the beginning of February, the NFL owns things. That includes Christmas time. The NBA plays second fiddle until the NFL season is over.

Not on Christmas Day, NBA had ruled the last couple of years in that day. Starting with the Kobe vs Shaq game. MLB play second fiddle to the NBA until the NBA Finals are over.

The NBA season is perfect.

-The opening is after the baseball playoffs and world series. Its after football starts.

-You can build momentum into december and january. I.e. the christmas day games. Those get pretty high ratings. Some of them use to set records, didn't they? Like Shaq and the Lakers vs X.

-There's not much happening in january and feb in sports.

The playoffs are great in april, may and june.

I think the NBA is smart, they don't compete with football in the fall. I.e. thanksgiving, monday night football.

Move the opening game to the week of Christmas and that moment would go right into January and Feb. I just don't like the fact that NHL and NBA playoff are competing for ratings. Push the NBA Finals back to July 4Th territory.

They don't compete... That would imply people actually watch the NHL playoffs. The NHL playoffs are a non-factor in reference to the NBA.

Their fanbases don't overlap much, so I don't see the issue. Moving the NBA schedule would not increase interest in hockey or the Stanley Cup.
