Interesting interview that Howard had on local TV.

He said he is enjoying his time here, and enjoying the treatment from the people here.

He said he missed a couple of free throws in one of the home games, and the fans cheered him on and gave him encouragement. He responded and is making more of an effort on his free throw shooting. I had never heard anything like that from an NBA player - that a player took time out to thank the fans specifically for a certain area of his game.

He did hit 7 out of 10 the next game in Utah.

come on JL, youre trying to play off lin as a good defender because tinsley was shut out in his 14 minutes of playing time? john lucas the 3rd took the minutes and he went 5-11 had 5 rb, 4 as 3 steals and zero turnovers in 31 minutes. dude hasnt made more than 1.5 shots per game since 2008. hes made 2 baskets TOTAL in 3 games.

calderon has made a TOTAL of 5 shots all season and has never been a shooter but a passing pg.

Lin is producing fine for his contract and provides scoring to go along with Howard and Asik starting together.

Lin is still a young player and has shown a high work ethic and constant improvement.

His contract isn't crazy relative to his contributions and he is a good teamate.

All that said, it's not fair to call him garbage. I mean holy crap, he's at least as good as Bargnani for less than 1/2 the money.

nah lins garbage lmao lin is still living off that 2 weeks of hype.
not sure why Bargnani was brought up? but hes playing 20 minutes and his per 36 numbers are not that far off from lins. hes wide considered garbage and he is only making <3 mil more than lin over this and next season according to hoophype. com.

not the best comparison math if youre trying to show lin isnt garbage.

hell lets look at patty mills, his per 36 numbers are as good or better than lins and he is hardly getting off the bench in SA for 1.1mil. siilar scoring, assists, rebounds and steals but mills turns the ball over 1/4 what lin does and fouls .8 vs lins 2.2 per 36 minutes. and they are the same age given by 10 days.

its still early obviously but damn the love for lin is silly.

That does have value though - he's sufficient for what the Rockets need but by securing him that salary they get his massive Asian fanbase.

That has been part of my point for the longest. Les loves Chinese money and that's the only reason Lin is on a team

Has nothing to do with Lin's production.

He is the second leading scorer in the three games so far. 55% FG percent, 40% from three. So far... so good.

By the way for the season - Lin 10 ast, 11 TOs... Harden 13 Ast, 14 TOs. Neither one playing like garbage right now.

Lin didnt guard much on Lucas which is who Aaron Brooks had guarded mostly , Lin had more time against Tinsley and Burkes...Burkes is their shooting guard who came in the game averaging 19pts and is bigger than Jeremy.

Calderon was lighting it up in the preseason(went 15-30 from field) and actually during the preseason game against Rockets, hit like 4-5 buckets on Jeremy, so the other night, Jeremy adjusted and Calderon went 0-8.

Lin's defensive rating is 88.6 through the regular season thus far...darn good.

The one thing Lin does need to work alot more on is fighting thru screens.

Funny you say Lin is trash, but Harden and Curry are both weak defenders, so i guess we should call them trash too right...

Curry had 18, 11 rb, 12 as, 5 steals and only 2 turnovers in 29 minutes tonight vs the kid a lot of people are calling rookie of the year.

Yeah Lins even remotely in that kind of category! Put Lin back on the bench.
