Skip Bayless is one third of the brilliant trio of ESPN's 'first take' which is one of few things that keep me hanging by a thread as an NBA fan. Cari Champion is the star; I especially love when she pretends to assiduously take notes on the show, but Skip and Steven A are great too.

Skip was an avid runner who ran a 2:47 marathon in Houston in 1985. That's a 6 min 22 sec per mile pace over 26.2 miles--not too shabby. Wikipedia has a list of celebs who have completed the marathon.

List of non-professional marathon runners - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Selected examples:

Edward Norton (actor) 3:48:01
Dana Carvey (comic) 3:04:21 (not bad)
Oprah Winfrey 4:29:20
Sean 'Puffy' Combs 4:14:54 ( you barely beat Oprah)
Pat Tillman 3:48:48
George W Bush 3:44:52
Sarah Palin 3:59:36
Al Gore 4:58:25 (Sarah Palin whipped your butt)
David Petraeus: 2:50:53

All in all it appears that there were about 6 celebs who ran the marathon faster than Skip. Mostly ex-pro bicycle racers. The median time for a male marathon finisher last year was 4:16:24, or about a 9 min, 46 second per mile pace.
