The Dream Team is considered the best team ever assembled in the history of basketball. But if we could choose from any of the remaining all-time greats, could we possibly create a team that's better?

Isaiah Thomas.

Yes he's a grade A douche bag as a person, but as a competitor one of the best ever. His talent and fire made him seem taller than his 6/6'1" skinny frame.

Unfairly snubbed from the original Dream Team.

Probably.

The only positions where you have all-time greats would be Jordan and Magic.

Being able to span decades of basketball you'll have someone a little better at 3 of the 5 or so as well as a bench.

However, that's not really fair.

It was a team that was ACTUALLY put together at the same time and not on paper using time machines.

In that regard, fat chance ever getting a team like that to suit up again.

The team with the GOAT on it would win.

Are the other greats in their primes facing the '92 Dream Team? Are we allowed to revert to the primes of players that were on the Dream Team? I guess the only spot where it matters is Larry Bird.

I'd almost say just give me prime Jordan/Magic/Bird and you can fill in the rest of the roster with decent role players.

Yes and yes.

What do you mean by this? I'm going to assume you are not saying that Larry Bird and Karl Malone are NOT all-time greats. Rather, I'm going to assume you mean that those guys are not the best to ever do it at their respective positions (still questionable).
