Teams like the Warriors and Cavs pick up good players left and right. The Cavs will likely win the east 2-3 more seasons. After that, the Warriors and Spurs may go on a run for 4-5 of the next championships.
Looks like we might have a decade of Lebron super teams battling Warrior super teams with the Spurs sometimes sneaking through.
It gets a little boring following 2nd, 3rd, 4th tier teams. It's the same every year...fans hype up new acquisitions that make their team look good on paper, but we can always narrow down the champion to 2-3 teams before the season starts (for example the 2014 Nets were going to be awesome). If someone traveled back in time and told you the champion prior to the season beginning, how many times would you have been shocked in the last 20 years or so? Mavs in 2011? Pistons in '04? Good teams that earned their titles, but absolutely no staying power.
the nba has always had "stacked" teams its nothing new
the jordan bulls, the kobe/shaq lakers, the showtime lakers, the bird celtics, all the way back to russells celtics, and so on.
stacked teams are something that will always be here, and have always been here.

The league has always been more balanced back then. Even though the Lakers and Bulls were good they still were challenged in the playoffs playing in some 7 game series. Now teams just cakewalk all the way to the finals. If Golden St and Cleveland meet again in the finals, then that will be the first time in NBA history that 2 teams will have met in the finals for 3 years straight. So yes teams are stacked more then ever.
and yet the lakers made 8 finals in the 1980's
(80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 87, 88, 89) then again in 91.
celtics made the/won the finals 10x between 1959-1969, facing the lakers 7x. the celtics were a part of the finals 1957-1969 with the exception of 1967 when philly and the warriors played.
before that, the lakers from 1949-1954 played in 5 finals.
seems to me there were more stacked/dominant teams until the end of the jordan era than there are now.
the game has changed, team devotion takes a back seat to individual accomplishments which leads to " I don't want to play for this team anymore I want to win a championship now" which stacks teams as much as they can afford and this works as long as you have a good enough bench to go all the way... the warriors didn't last year and they don't this year.

And Lebron is going to his 7 finals appearance in a row with 2 different teams?
and all of his teams have been stacked. just like the lakers in the early 2000s, te bulls in the 90s, the lakers in the 80s, and so on.
the "stacked team" is the same as it ever was.
It just seems different to me. Those Laker and Bulls teams that you've talked about all had series that went to 7 games (except 2001 Lakers). When is the last time Lebron had a 7 game series in the Eastern Conference playoffs?
Bulls were challenged by the Pacers and Knicks. Lakers were always challenged by the Spurs, Rockets, Kings.
They have always been stacked but are just stacked a bit differently now. This would be like Magic and Bird deciding to play on the same team or something. Back then it was one superstar with other fringe superstars (yes some had 2 stars) and then some nice role players and bench. Now it's 2-3 superstars and not much help outside of that.

Good point. Lakers, Celtics and Bulls teams were stacked, but they were mostly stacked with players that they drafted with a few free agents thrown in.
