Nope, last year someone created a separate thread for the finals.

Yea there's one game left to play, but no way the Celtics are coming back!

And like SAS said, no excuses for the Cavs. Kyrie just poured in 42 and KLove put up 17/17. Then you've got Thompson who can grab 15 boards on any given night.

Yes, We've all been waiting.

Haha- I'm terrible- I was just amazed one day when I watched Mark Price drain 80 something straight free throws and started following the game.

Has anybody noticed how woefully bad Iguodala has been this post-season? He's 3 of 27 from three or 11.1%. I understand that he brings more to the table than shooting, but he's going to have to improve for the Warriors to beat the Cavs. I can't remember the last time I saw him make a 3 pointer. Many of his misses are wide open too.

The last time the Eastern conference was competitive had to be early to mid 2000s.

Jason Kidd,Vince Carter and the Nets -
Shaq & DWade Heat -
Chauncey Billups & Ben Wallace Pistons

Even before Drose got hurt it was still exciting but when Lebron,Wade & Bosh got to together it was like the end of competition in the East.

When the Boston Big 3 formed in 08 it was more so Ray Allen,Pierce & Garnett on their last legs.

I really hope Carmelo joins a great team so he can have a shot at a title before retirement.

But make no mistake LeBron is the best of his era.
Although there's alot on the line in this year's finals.

He's been injured and I doubt he's still better than 75%. Might be better to sit him more than play him right now.

Cleveland needs to take care of business tomorrow night, first. Then we can get that matchup we all have seen since October...

In my opinion the reason why people think that the Eastern conference is considered weak is because Lebron keeps on going to the finals (7 years straight) and he did not win the championship the majority of the time.

If you have a player that dominates a certain conference but doesn't win the championship most of time then either:
A. The player is overrated.
B. Conference doesn't have enough competition.
C. Bad luck.

Now imagine in the NFL, that if Tom Brady made the Superbowl 7 times in a row but only won 3, people would definitely be complaining and calling him overrated.

Bottom line is the league needs more parity or the appearance of more parity.

Had this same discussion with a friend.

He's been to 6 straight. He's won 3. He's lost badly in a few (2011) and (2014). He won game 7's resulted in championships (2013), (2016), and won another convincingly (2012).

Some may not, but I give him a pass for (2015). He won two games with Delly being his sidekick after he had to adapt during the series with Kyrie out. Would Jordan win a series without Scottie and Horace Grant in the early 90s? Kobe without D Fisher and Shaq?

So arguably you can count 5 chances and 3 titles resulting from those chances.
ECF So this decade - 6 for 6 with Eastern conference foes. He's 100% beating teams that he should.
NBA Finals this decade- He lost in 2011 as the favorite, 2014 he lost to Hall of Fame coach and inspired talented squad. He was the underdog in 2015.
1 series lost as a favorite (2011)
1 series lost as an slight favorite/equal (2014)
1 series lost as an underdog (2015)
1 series won as a slight favorite/equal ( 2013)
1 series won as a favorite (2012)
1 series won as an underdog (2016)

His numbers suggest he's not overrated, you could argue the competition isn't as strong yet he's won 3 of 5 when its the western conference as the opponent. 2015 was a little bad luck.

On a side note, the Warriors had a clear path this year. Portland and Utah without key guys and SAS without two of their best players. Last season they beat and OKC team that Cleveland/Lebron (both Miami and Cle) has historically handled.
