Dirk was the overall leader by win shares for two seasons in the middle of the decade...McGrady was never on that level:

Dirk was definitely a better player than McGrady. McGrady never won an MVP, was only in the top five of MVP voting twice, to Dirk's three times. And on the court, Dirk was just a bigger winner. To me, that Top 5 is not debatable. The positioning is and I think there are several different ways to position them but the Top 5 of the '00s was Kobe, Duncan, Shaq, KG, and Dirk. Period...

Dirk not over Iverson either !!!

Cmon now, some of you guys are just saying what the majority wants to hear instead of the truth. The boy was league Mvp,led a scrub team to the finals, won the scoring title like 4 times and had one of the deadliest crossovers ever.

Plus he took 1 game from Shaq & Kobe in what could've been the greatest postseason run ever.

He was only 6 ft but had the heart of a lion.
Didn't even back down to Jordan and revolutionized the way players were looked at from the inner city
( Tattoos,Cornrows, Flashy Jewerly )

Dirk is another once in a lifetime player but when we think of the 2000's the biggest names that come to mind are Shaq,Kobe,Duncan,Iverson,Garnett.

Again, there can be strong arguments for the other great players - Tmac,VC,Dirk,Webber,Ray Allen,Marbury,Ming

But Iverson is top 5 EASY

Let's put to bed who was better in the 2000's between Kobe & Duncan,Once again we go to the numbers !!

Kobe Lakers & Duncan Spurs faced off 4 times in the playoffs during the decade with the Lakers winning 4 out of the 5 series....Duncan also never achieved a 3 peat or Back to Back titles like Kobe. And in 08 Kobe Lakers beat Duncan Spurs without Shaq by his side so we have to factor all of those things in.

Duncan reg season stats from 00 - 09

08 : 20.2 ppg , 10.9 Rebs , 3.3 Ast & 2.1 Blocks
09 : 19.8 ppg , 5.6 Rebs , 3.2 Ast & 1.2 Blocks

Kobe reg season stats from 00 - 09

00 : 22.5 ppg , 4.7 reb , 4.9 Ast and 1.6 Steals
01 : 28.5 ppg , 5.9 reb , 5.0 ast and 1.7 steals
02 : 25.2 ppg , 4.1 reb , 5.5 ast & 1.5 steals
03 : 30.0 ppg , 6.9 reb , 5.9 ast and 2.2 steals
04 : 24.0 ppg , 3.9 reb , 5.1 ast and 1.7 steals
05 : 27.7 ppg , 5.9 reb , 6.0 ast and 1.3 steals*
06 : 35.4 ppg, 5.3 reb , 4.5 ast and 1.8 steals*
07 : 31.6 ppg , 5.7 reb , 5.4 ast and 1.4 steals*
08 : 28.3 ppg , 6.3 reb , 5.4 ast and 1.8 steals*
09 : 26.8 ppg , 4.1 reb , 4.9 ast and 1.5 steals

Kobe playoff stats ,

Kobe Bryant best playoff numbers ,*
01 : 29.4 ppg , 7.3 rebs , 6.1 ast and 1.6 steals*
02 : 26.6 ppg , 4.4 rebs , 4.6 ast & 1.4 steals
03 : 32.1 ppg , 5.2 rebs , 5.2 ast and 1.2 steals*

06 : 27.9 ppg , 6.3 rebs , 5.1 ast and 1.1 steals*
07 : 32.8 ppg , 5.2 rebs , 4.4 ast and 1.0 steals*
08 : 30.1 ppg , 5.7 rebs , 5.6 ast and 1.7 steals*
09 : 30.2 ppg , 5.3 rebs , 5.5 ast and 1.7 steals

This is basically like comparing Mike to Karl Malone

Mike is the better scorer, avg more ast & steals
While Malone avg more rebs & blocks

But head to head Mike beat Malone in the playoffs so the answer is Mike.

Kobe also beat Duncan more in the playoffs so it is what it is.

Kobe is # 1 for the 2000's with Duncan at a close # 2

HERE WE GO!

Hola Pappi

So once again you nitpick stuff.

Of course you lead everyone to believe Kobe was the leader of the lakers from day 1. Your Kobe vs Duncan stats are bs. You can scrub those first 3 titles for Kobe if not for Shaq. Duncan es THE MAN on his team for every title except 2014, where he was 3rd fiddle at worst but 2nd fiddle more likely, and #1 as the voice/leader on the team. No Duncan, no title period.

But of course KOBE = GOAT #2 and a VERY close second to Jordan. We know!

(Side note, maybe you should triple check those numbers you posted, Duncan never averaged 23/9.7/12.9/2.9

And Duncan was the man on the spurs 100%
Kobe was second fiddle to Shaq or missed the playoffs 75% of that time
