I'm a new mom of a 12 week old preemie and I have to go back to work asap but I'm concerned about putting her daycare because colds are harder on preemies than other kids. I would ideally like to have someone sit for her in my home M-Th 7am - 4pm and I've tried everything from Craigslist to having my church send out a mass email. My parents are deceased and I don't know of anyone that I trust that is not working full time. There's only been one so-so response from the church and lots of potentially sketchy Craigslist responses which I don't wish to entertain.

Anyone know of another method of finding someone reliable and dependable to sit with my baby that's not going to cost an arm and 3 legs and that won't result in our home being ransacked (sp)?

Thanks in advance.

You might check the YWCA, and women's shelters. The managers should be able to suggest resources you might have missed. You could call the busiest hotels and see if they have a sitter service they recommend for guests with children. The casino's might have a sitter service, too. And you might call the hospital and your doctor.

You really need to stick with a reputable daycare service if you don't know anyone personally. Don't trust your newborn's care to a stranger or strangers opinions on public forums. Family is best but since you don't have any family nearby your best bet is to find a good daycare. If you're serious, IM me and I'll send you a list of some pretty good places.
