My husband and I will be relocating to Baton Rouge next month. I will be attending LSU and he will be attending BRCC and I'm curious what areas we should be looking into for an apartment.

what kind of budget are you looking at?

the garden district (there's one complex on park blvd) would be pretty convenient to both schools (a bit closer to LSU, but not a bad drive to brcc at all, and it's a nice area)

there are a couple of complexes on claycut/s. foster which would be closer to BRCC but still only 10-15min drive to LSU.

there are also a few apartments downtown, which would be pretty centrally located to either school as well.

anywhere on corporate, college, or essen would be doable for both commutes as well, it just depends on how close you want to be. these locations wouldn't be as ideal as the ones listed above but gives you quite a few more options and price ranges as far as apartments go.

Stay south of Florida Blvd. The above mentioned areas would be fine. Baton Rouge is a fairly small city though and if you live in town it is pretty easy to get to LSU and BRCC. Just depends on your budget. If you find an apartment complex or a house that interests you give me a PM and I can probably give you some information on the area. I work for the city EMS and know every area of the city and parish very well. I work the EMS station down the street from BRCC every other month. Many folks would be really surprised at the crap that happens in the so called "nice" areas of town. There are some decent areas though.
