Anyone familiar with Fountain Hill (I-10 and Bluff Road)? Seemingly nice neighborhood...........but TONS of homes for sale. Kinda makes me leery. Curious if anyone has insight?

Very large homes, I've done the stucco on a few of the homes. It's a popular subdivision. Nothing wrong with it, the economy, real estate market, and sheer size of the homes relate to the for sale signs.

Beautiful, safe and quiet neighborhood and the school district is Dutchtown I think. Great time to buy a home if you can afford it.

Sits next to a landfill. Not all that bad though. Homes in that price change are just sitting due to the economy.

God I can remember when I was a kid visiting godparents in Prairieville how it used to be a sleepy little country town. Just a couple stores and some remote houses. Then the subdivisions started popping up like crazy all the way down to Gonzales.

Maybe this one?

But that may not be near the subdivision. It's near Dutchtown...

Not a landfill per say and that's surely not at the intersection where the EPA says it's at. I THINK the poster might be talking about the coal deposit field out in Dutchtown. If you look on google earth you can see it going out fiestas the river.

The linked location is about 6 miles down I-10. I'm not overly concerned. If you are referring to another landfill, please let me know.

We actually were a bit shy when looking in the Geismar area due to the industry around there. I'm curious if any of you have thoughts on Geismar?
