Me and my 6 years old daughter will be moving to baton rouge in a couple of weeks from Houston, tx. Can someone please help me and give informations about baton rouge and where should we stay at. I make average income and are looking for an apartment that is in a good neighborhood with less crime and good school district.

Spring Brook apartments (or any in the area) are in the Woodlawn district I believe, good area, good schools too.

You can start by giving us a rent range.

Am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in between 5-600. Where is the Woodlawn district at? Is it close to LSU? I heard any school around the Lsu area is really horrible.

Woodlawn/Shenedoah is in the eastern part of the city. Not close to LSU, not too far either. Schools around LSU are horrible.

See if you can't find a way to get your child into the Dufrocq School. It's a magnet school.

You should also check out Bluebonnet Ridge apartments on Bluebonnet Blvd.

I'll be honest. You're not going to find a safe place with a good school district with that rental range.

That's all I can afford to pay right now and with being a single mom with a daughter I'm just hoping whichever place we end up at will be a decent one, safety wise.

I reviewed other posted topics and they say the prairreville and donaldson have good school and nice neighborhood but I checked the apartments around those areas and they are costly.
