Yea Sherwood Forest is a good place to live. With crime, so long as you're south of florida blvd you're fine.

The Sherwood Forest neighborhood is very nice. I used to work atone of the schools on Goodwood. Many of our teachers would run in the neighborhood after school. It's safe, just don't get too close to Florida Blvd (more noise, through traffic). You can get a lot of house for your money. It's an older neighborhood with beautiful mature live oak trees. You might get a deal on a house that needs some cosmetic upgrades, as many of the homes have older residents. You are close to 10, 12, and Airline so it's a good location for commuting. St Thomas more is right there too, if you are looking for private school. If you opt for public school, Sherwood middle school is a magnet school.
In my honest opinion, SF is a nice neighborhood.

I work in the area you are describing. Yes, this is an area considered to have pockets of good and bad. There are some beautiful houses to be sure in this area with some great bang for the buck. It is certainly an older established community with quite a bit of quality well built houses.

However, they have some apartment complexes almost adjacent to the area you are looking at which will always place you in immediate locale to the less then desirable situations. Yes, it is going downhill, no if's and's or but's.

Excellent access to the freeway and to Airline.
