I am a 28yr old educated female. Just looking for something to do on a friday evening and surround myself with a a mix crowd of young intellectuals. I am not really into the club scene, so I was thinking of a place like Tsunami, but thats all I got. If anyone can suggest any other nice spots, or anything that is going on tomorrow night please let me know. Thanks

Hi! I'm in roughly the same position as you. Sorry I haven't any suggestions as I'm new to town but if you've had a chance to get to know the city a little better and now have some suggestions yourself, I'd sure appreciate reading them. Thanks!

Prepare to be disappointed. This just isnt a "young professional" type of town. I would suggest the Third St restaurants and bars such as Tsunamis, the Wine Loft and The Grape (both at Perkins Rowe) and a Wine Loft (Downtown).*

Im going to cosign with trafficsucks. Prepare to be disappointed. The best you'll do are what she listed. The Wine loft and the Grape (there is a different name for it now but I can't think of it), The Bulldog off of Perkins, and maybe Boudreauxs downtown... I'm a 24 year old single professional, and there just isn't much here :-)

Downtown 3rd street is a great place and has a lot of great places to eat and meet new people. There are a lot of events going on downtown at the Shaw Center and at different times throughout the year. The Downtown Development District has a website that is helpful if you would like to find places to eat and places to go:
