Its seems that there has been a lot of buzz about BR being the center of the world now in LA. Is it apperant in NOLA?? NOLA was a cosmopolitan place ,BR is not and may never be. Where does BR beat NOLA and vice versa?

The thing the pundits miss is that while there were population losses in New Orleans, the metro area also includes Jefferson, St Tammany, St Charles, (those who stayed in) St Bernard, and parts of Tangipahoa/Plaquemines. Meaning that you're still looking at over 1 million in the metro area. Even being optimistic, I see metro BR as having 700-750K.
BR has the advantage of being the center of government and on higher ground. But it doesn't have the varied infrastructure (defense, finance, tourism, many universities) that New Orleans has.

New Orleans need to get on the ball. I am tired of NOLA having a lazy attitude. New Orleans is one of the best cities in the USA

New Orleans has two pro sports teams, the biggest CBD (by far) in the state, an airport 10x the size of BTR, and a GDP that is 75% greater than Baton Rouge's. It's really not even a contest.

I like Lafayette a lot more than BR, and its only a fraction of the size. It deserves respect and LSU is a great university, but honestly Baton Rouge is not a very exciting city at all.
