What will it take for the city of Baton Rouge to become a large metro like.....Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, etc?

List as many things that you think need to be done for this to happen?

Expanded industries like medical, tech, petrochemical, imports, exports, and renewable industries. Baton Rouge can't do it alone it will take cooperation from all of south Louisiana.

I'm in the minority around here on that issue . I don't believe that bigger is always better , and I don't believe that every empty lot or piece of land needs some kind of development . Baton Rouge has outgrown it's infrastructure and I'm afraid that some of it's problems ( traffic for instance ) are beyond any reasonable solution .

Traffic is not beyond a solution. Neither is crime, and neither is political corruption.

I agree with this therory.BR has just out grown it's infrastructure.Being from BR I have seen it grow from Basically 3RD St . to what it is now which is anything but organised.Example is the Police Dept.I respsct them and they do what they can but they need (TWICE) the resources they have now just to keep up with BR as it is .From what I have seen it will always be this way ,which means more crime ect..

Then why does it seem to be getting worse ?BR is trying to fix the traffic but that takes so long and is very exspensive,BR needs twice the police force than they currently have and I am afraid political corruption is there to stay, that seems to be part of our Heritage .

Traffic isn't a easy problem to fix. Widening won't help. Police don't stop crime, jobs and education does.

Every city has problems, traffic doesn't have to be fixed, what city doesn't have traffic problems?
