6 months ago relocated to SW Florida for husband's job...now there is a possibility we will be again relocating to Baton Rouge for husband's job. Schools not an issue (kids are in college out of state) but we want to rent in a relatively safe area - a house - not apartment, condo, duplex. What are the better (ie, safer) areas of town, or the most desirable? Obviously having lived in Bham crime is not a stranger to us (and yes, we lived downtown near the hospital and university) but that doesn't mean we are not cautious - we don't want to live near gang/drug central. Thanks!

Guess more info would be helpful! Between Mid City South and Broadmoore/Sherwood Forest. Minimal commute but that depends on the neighborhood - he doesn't have to live within walking distance of work even though he would like to
- no more than 45 minute commute tops. I work from home, so not an issue for me. Would love older home with character, but not a requirement. Wouldn't mind cool loft if those are available. Do not want cookie cutter patio homes two feet from each other (have that now and hate that aspect). Needs at least 2 bedrooms, can be from 1,000 sq ft up to 3,500 (extra space is just extra $$ to cool considering how hot it gets). I just know next to nothing about the neighborhoods and need to know where to look. Thanks!

- no more than 45 minute commute tops. I work from home, so not an issue for me. Would love older home with character, but not a requirement. Wouldn't mind cool loft if those are available. Do not want cookie cutter patio homes two feet from each other (have that now and hate that aspect). Needs at least 2 bedrooms, can be from 1,000 sq ft up to 3,500 (extra space is just extra $$ to cool considering how hot it gets). I just know next to nothing about the neighborhoods and need to know where to look. Thanks!
