That was 2 year's ago. There's no trash from that flood in populated areas.

Livingston Parish is NOT dirty. North Baton Rouge does feel dirty and not well kept but the rest of the city is perfectly fine. Overall Lafayette had a more run down feel than Baton Rouge.

And where in Lafayette might you be referring to?

I pass through Livingston Parish at least once a week . It's as dirty as any other Parish . No one is exempt from the slobs .

I find Denham, Walker, Watson, and Springfield to be very well kept and pleasant places compared to North Baton Rouge or a lot of New Orleans or Kenner. In the Baton Rouge area, Baker also feels kinda dirty.

I also think Prairieville and Gonzales and Central are very clean areas.

Prairieville isn't clean, neither is Livingston Parish. I grew up in Prairieville and spent about 2 years driving around rural Livingston Parish from French Settlement up to Killian and Albany. It's very dirty. All of Louisiana is compared to where I am now.

Demographics play a part in it . Even Stevie Wonder can see that ...

Baton Rouge used to be nice and clean, I dont know what the hell happened to this place. I grew up in Alexandria and we would frequent Baton Rouge and it was always maintained, that was the late 70's, 80's and 90's. Fast forward to the present, this place is trashed and filthy. The Capitol alone looks like it needs to be pressure washed. The roads here are that of a 3rd world country. North Baton Rouge has streets littered with abandoned furniture and other waste. I honestly moved down here remembering how it used to be and this place has little to nothing to be desired. It appears that the government that runs the city as well as the state has no intention to spend a dime on cleaning this place up. Not to mention the foul smell the plants around here put off.

Baton Rouge roads really aren't bad at all. I've been to a few 2nd world countries with roads FAR worse. I drove a very very low car around for years and Baton Rouge roads are actually decent.

I just moved to Baton Rouge, and the first thing I noticed was the trash lying everywhere, the overgrown weeds, the dilapidated buildings, the mold stains on many buildings, and the cracking, bumpy roads and sidewalks with the crumbling curbs and the dirty concrete barriers. I fully second Robh5000. A question for those who have lived here longer: Are there any nice, clean places in this city?
