35 yr old single black female wanting to move from Tampa Florida to Baton Rouge four kids 4-16 yrs old looking for the pros and cons on moving here. How are the jobs in the health care field neighborhoods schools and so forth

My spouse and I left Louisiana with our little one after many years of rising/spreading crime, bad schools, and layoffs.

Pros

- The healthcare field is good in Baton Rouge and is expanding

Cons

-Bad public schools. We put our little one in private school and loved it.
-The traffic for such a small city is bad
-The city is dirty and the roads are literally fall apart
-The city is unsafe, especially in North Baton. The crime is definitely spreading
-The air quality is bad and the city sometimes stinks

I could continue because the entire state is failing due to corrupt politicians and a very uneducated population despite universities on every corner.

Do yourself a favor and keep driving to Texas
