Greetings-

My wife and I are relocating to Baton Rouge in a few weeks. My wife is a native of the city, so we are aware of the traffic issues that have plagued the city post Katrina.

There are a few neighborhoods we are considering for a home purchase that we cannot seem to find any information on. I will be working in the State Capitol, and ease of commute and safety are our primary neighborhood pre-requisites.

We are leaning towards the Garden District or Capitol Heights, but we would like some information on SPRING LAKE and PORT ALLEN.

Many Thanks!

Port Allen is okay if you have the disposable income to send you kids to the private elementary school there or to a private high school in BTR.

Actually, traffic is really the same as it was before Katrina, at least to me! Traffic has been a problem here way before Katrina!! Anyway, I heard that Woodridge is a great neighborhood, but I am not sure about the others. Good Luck!

Does anyone know the name of the subdivision at the intersection of Jones Creek and Harrell's Ferry? If so, do you know anything about the area? Thanks!

The name slips my mind, but it is a good neighborhood to live in. I live off S.Harrells Ferry past ST.Jean School and love this area.

I drove by that way today. There are a few:
White Oak Trace
Oak Meadow
Cumberland Cove
