Hi all, my name is DJ and I just moved here a few weeks ago and I was wondering about churches in the area. I am 21 so I would like something that has a good sized college aged ministry. I am Christian and have always gone to a "non-denominational" church, really the closest thing to it is prodestant. I tend to avoid the whole fire and brimstone type churches, so if it is possible to filter those out it would be great.

Thanks in advance!

University Baptist on Campus is fairly popular among LSU students and younger alums. Bethany is more evangelical and has a live band. I'm still looking for a church, though. I'm fairly liberal in my personal and political beliefs so I'm trying to find a place that doesn't condemn me for that. If anybody has any suggestions about a place like this please let me know. I'm a college grad in my early twenties.

Have you tried Healing Place?
On the outside they seem to be open and more liberal, more universal, but from the people I know who frequent that church, I would almost associate it with being more conservative, more evangelical. But I've never been.

The on campus churches tend to be more open. University Methodist, I've heard is another good church there. And Methodists are wierd because one church can seem almost Catholic, another can appear hardcore baptist and then another can seem very universal, so you have to look around.

If you're looking for a liberal church, check out University Presbyterian. They're very liberal and very open. www.upcbr.org

I live in Central. This Church is getting rave reviews from folks that love music, especially 92.7 in BR.

I dont know if its in your range, but it is growing rapidly, especially among younger folks.

Check out all the churches at LSU. 95% of the people there are young.

All the other options posted above are very good places to start as well, especially if you are looking for a younger congregation.
