Couple of thoughts: (1) Mass transit has kind of a "low income stigma" attached to it; it doesn't have the broader acceptance that it would in Dallas, Atlanta, or Houston; (2) If you wanted to shuttle people, you may want to try BR to NO, BR to the NO airport, and so forth. I doub you'd get many takers for BR-Lafayette.

I don't know. To have only one shuttle running trips between BTR and LAF, I don't think you'd get a good response. I know of many fellow coworkers who commute from across the basin, but some carpool, and they come at all different times of the day. I don't know how you could cater to that with one bus.
Maybe you could potentially rent out to tour groups, around BTR or LAF. Day trips to NOLA, in the swamp, across the north shore, to MS Gulf Coast & casinos, away football/basketball games for LSU and SU, etc. You might find a better crowd and more takers doing that.

Maybe you could advertise around retirement communities and shuttle old people to and from casinos in the region (Evangeline Downs, Paragon, Harrah's New Orleans). Lots of old people love to gamble.
