So, LA was in the news with the guy, who wouldn't marry the white woman and African American guy, how do people in BR react to interracial relationships? I'm particularly interested in Asian-White, not so much Black-White, as I'm white and my husband is Japanese. We're both educated professionals, so not students, considering a job offer in Baton Rouge.

Thanks

It's a non-issue to me. But I can't answer for the countless other idiots out there in the world. Obviously, being in the south, black-white and possibly white/black-islamic are probably the most scrutinized I see down here. Asian - White isn't really an issue here.

I agree with both posters. I do see many black white couples, but it doesn't bother me or my family! Who cares who you are with or the color ya know? Some people are so dumb!

very non-issue. my bro. is white as milk and has a filipino (sp?) wife. no problems. the case you are referring is very odd. the mainstream media always hype up rare oddities like that. truly though, no one cares...

I'm married to a filipino and it has never been a problem here.

I couldn't speak for individual opinions on the matter, but I do notice that Baton Rouge dwellers typically see some of the Florida Parishes, where this incident took place, as a more backwoods, small town type of environment.

I know of several inter-racial couples via work or some friends of mine that live nearby (in Baton Rouge). They tell me that they don't really have much of a problem....but then again, they live in East Baton Rouge.

Yes, the Florida Parishes are a totally different world than EBR south of Florida.
