I am looking for a studio apartment in Baton Rouge. There's one for rent on Addison Street. Is this a safe area? I'm an older single woman who is looking for a safe place to live in BR. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Let me just tell you that Addison is in one of the worst areas in Baton Rouge. Are you dead set on a studio? What area of town are you looking to be near for work or whatever?

VERY bad part of town. That area went down in the 1970s/1980s.

Thank you for the reply. I may be working in a small town north of Baton Rouge across the Mississippi line. There is very little rental property available there. I wouldn't want anything larger than a one bedroom. I would prefer to live away from LSU, preferrably near I-110 because of the easy access, Northern Baton Rouge or Zachary. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Go to Zachary, or even Clinton, don't try to live in BR at all would be my advice.

Zachary or St. Francisville would be good bets. And if you're working in Mississippi, you may want to consider Natchez from a convenience standpoint.
