I wrote awhile ago saying how rude Baton Rougeans have become. let me tell you, we had some of the best experiences on the road and in the stores this past weekend. People actually seemed nicer like they were Pre-katrina. I hope it stays this way as we moved here partly because of the friendly town. Unfort. I also see a little bit more uncourteous behavior when it comes to pedestrians at stores, please people, pay attention at crosswalks everywhere, I almost saw a guy get hit at Old Navy because of a rude unconsiderate woman(the license plate frame was from a dealer in SLIDELL). Keep Baton Rouge safe!!

IMO, Baton Rouge was a crazy place the month after Katrina, when we were housing several hundred thousand people from metro New Orleans, as well as the Feds. I recall going ANYWHERE took twice as long. Things have quieted down, although I've noticed they're continually busy clearing EVERY piece of available land for commercial or residential purposes.
