Currently live in Corvallis, and aside from the rain, this town is awful for singles. Most everyone is married/has partners, especially in the 5+ crowd. Wondering if Bend will provide better social opportunities for dating/meeting people?

Good for dating and meeting? Darned if I know. It seems to me that people who are not good at dating and meeting are not good at dating and meeting no matter where they live.

Corvallis is a college town and Bend is a recreation and retirement town, so it is possible that the average age in Bend is older.

You are only a couple hour away. Go visit when the roads over the pass are clear. Find a couple events online that would likely attract the 50+ crowd and go to them and see the mix of people that show up. Look at your favorite dating sites for older people and put in Bend/Redmond and see how many people are on there. Look at meetup events for the area. Maybe there are some mature singles events?

I've been married for nearly 40 years, so I haven't been looking for quite a while.

Corvallis: Average age of 27 (average includes kids) and about 19% between 45-59 years old. 34% married overall but surely higher in older age brackets.

Bend: average age of 39 and about same 19% between 45-59. 53% married. More or less married in upper age brackets than for same age brackets in Corvallis? Would have to dig on more detailed Census data. Probably not that different.

Corvallis is a college town and Bend is not.
Bend (and surrounds) is a retiree town and Corvallis is not.

So those numbers make sense.
