Hi All,

Will be moving to Bend end of November, but I'll be in town at end of October for a week. Need to secure a rental before I leave, so it will need to be quick and efficient. Besides, the faster I get it done, the more time I have to explore right :-)

Any recommendations for a good company/agent to help me out? Just as importantly, anyone I should avoid like the plague?

Thanks!

P.S. Looking for single family home in the 2000 sq ft size range.

Oregon also doesn't have a lot of Home Rental Companies or Rental Agents for a variety of reasons.

Craigslist is recommended for the Portland area, but it's not as heavily used in Bend. I'd highly suggest Googling for Central Oregon Classifieds and going from there.

There's a bunch of property companies in Bend. If you do a quick search on google at least 5 will show up. PM me if you are having trouble.

Yes, I found a number of companies via the web - I was looking more for personal experience from someone who had actually dealt with one or more of them. Oftentimes you don't really know until something goes wrong with the property, or the deal, that you're working with a less-than-reputable company.

I see that's a problem (perfectly understandable) with the Terms of Service.

I've made a number of phone calls, and based on my results, I have a pretty good idea of who I will make an appointment with, and also checked out the BBB in the area.

Guess I'll know soon enough.

Thanks for the input.

Lots of landlords advertise on Craigslist. I suggest that you start there.
