Would you expect otherwise? Will a car dealer ever tell you it's the wrong time to buy a car?

An honest one would. I would if it were true.

You would be a very poverty stricken car or house salesman...

But, I have to believe it would be a better world.

It's interesting. Given that two of these renters went from....renters to home owners in the same town I'm having a hard time understanding how these specific instances are any indication of a bad economic trajectory/outlook etc....

Not to say things aren't bad, tough and the like, but if people are able to jump from rental to home ownership....in my book, that's positive.

The third renter left due to divorce. Tough situation no matter the economy.

Personally, I just had a renter stop paying. Eviction ensued. Wasn't fun, but I was able to fill the unit within 12 days of vacancy doing standard repair work (and I could have gotten it rented out sooner if I wanted). The rental market is exceedingly strong/tight, atm, at least within Bend proper which, if anything, is a better indication of how tough the overall economy is right now.
