Depends on how you measure it. Down low that is probably true most seasons. But up higher where snow falls on snow?

Our friend Pete Alport Video/Photography left his house at 11 p.m. last night to shoot the first snowfall of the season. After a vigorous hike, they arrived at the summit of Broken Top just as the mountains were illuminated by the near full moon. Breathtaking, no?

Having a good hiking partner is essential when out in the middle of nowhere. They keep morale up, help carry gear, find the trail when you can't, and provide safety when necessary. Pictured here is my hiking friend Rex, on one of the summits of Broken Top yesterday as the moon set over South Sister. I couldn't have been more stoked looking through the viewfinder and seeing all these elements come together, namely the 1st Snow of the upcoming Winter Season! Please feel free to share.
