It has been snowing all day! We had about 5" at my place this morning and I'm guessing we got another 1-2" right now. It's currently dumping too! Winter has finally arrived!

What is the running total so far at each of your respective locations?

I measured 18" in my back yard and I'm on the NE side of town! I have some pics that I will try to share in a bit. It's insanity! My husband had to walk to work today. Got our truck stuck pulling out of the driveway this morning! It's been snowing off and on since I woke at 7am too.

We got about 18" so far in Redmond, or as we used to call it in Colorado, a "skiff".

Three feet at my house in CRR.

I just got in from shoveling out a bare spot so the dogs can go outside. My snow boots come up to my knees and got full of snow.

Fortunately, the snow is light and fluffy so shoveling it wasn't too difficult. The little dogs refuse to go out. The big dog was out playing. The snow is higher than his back and when I called him, he was completely coated with snow. The only things showing were his eyes, peering out of a great big snowball. But he gave a shake and it all flew off, leaving him clean and dry.

Webcams are amazing to see. Wondering if this is breaking any records for day/ single storm snow in town? Also interesting this is so dry and powdery, did not think that was common in Bend. At least according to some?

Love any pictures locals can post... really crushing me I can't be there for this one and for the epic skiing in the weeks ahead.

Wondering if Cascade snow pack will be closer to normal soon? I know it was way way behind so at least this is helping.

Started off dry because of the very cold temps. But according to my back the snow is getting more dense with each passing hour. Much heavier on my last round of shoveling then the wispy stuff I swept away Wed or Thurs AM.

And its trending heavier so get it shoveled asap! I am getting reports that even Subarus are getting stuck on the unplowed roads around Bend. If it was the light and dry suff getting stuck wouldn't be much of an issue.

Rest of Today
Snow...a chance of light freezing rain and light sleet. New snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 3 inches. Highs 20 to 29. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Tonight
Snow...a chance of light freezing rain and light sleet in the evening...then a chance of light freezing rain...snow and light sleet overnight. Snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. Lows 18 to 23. North wind 5 to 10 mph shifting to the east overnight. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Sunday
Cloudy. Snow likely in the morning...then a chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation around 1 inch. Snow level 2500 feet. Highs 33 to 38. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

BTW got an on snow report from a friend at Bachelor that it has changed to wetter heavier snow in the mountains. It is much warmer up there than in Bend. This is good news because the wetter snow will create a solid base that should cover the rest of the rocks. The Epic dry powder skiing was earlier this week. Looks like a wet wintery mix is forecast starting tonight.

Yes I think a very needed dose of snow!

BTW it is common to equate snowfall with snowpack but they are very different measurements.

Snow depth and density: What
