A car slammed completely into a Pilates studio in Bend's NorthWest Crossing Monday morning, reportedly landing on two people and showering others with glass while a class was in session, witnesses said.

Bend firefighters and police rushed to the scene of the crash reported around 10:40 a.m. that left a car in the Peach Pilates studio at 760 NW York Drive, by the NW Mt. Washington Drive/Crossing Drive roundabout.

Deputy Fire Marshal Dan Derlacki said fire and police crews would be on scene for several hours, securing the building and having the car removed.

On this evening's news KTVZ reports that the 71 year old driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal while in the round-a-bout. The driver was not cited.

They interviewed the police and I got the impression the investigation wasn't complete just yet.

I got there after they took the injured people to the hospital. It was surreal. Just not something you expect to see.

BTW, the police interview was on the news this evening.
