Hi Everyone,
My husband and I are considering purchasing some land that has hook ups for a RV or has a shop already. We would like to build a vacation cabin someday but until then would like the ability to come and work on our property during the year with our RV.

We have looked at a lot of different places but prefer south of Bend near Sunriver. We want a paved road to the property. We like Three Rivers South, but are there any other areas that might be good?

We would like at least a acre of land. Would love to be on the water if we can afford it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Can't be of much help if you want south and trees.

North of Bend, Crooked River Ranch allows permanent RV set-ups where you are allowed to live 6 months out of the year. You can buy on the water, but it is a long steep climb down to it.

If you buy on the river in the south of Bend area, be really careful. A lot of that land is flooded during the winter but looks fine during the summer. be sure that you can get a permit for a septic tank.

That area with the duck names for the streets (can't think of what it is called) has some lots with private community sewer and there are some community boat docks. Those lots aren't terribly expensive. I don't know what the CCR's are about living in an RV.

I will mirror what Oregon woodsmoke said, No matter where, check for Hoa CC&R's and especially Septic approval.

There are some areas just north of TRS, and west of Sunriver that might fit your needs. OWW has a number of properties such as you describe. Also remember some of that water is slow moving, which means lots of bugs.

Thank you for the information. We have spent a lot of time in the area and do realize there can be some issues with the waterfront properties. Our main goal would be to build or purchase a property that has a home already on it.

We are also considering purchasing a condo for now. That would be a simpler way to use the property during the winter months.

But it seems like some of the condo units have such high HOA fees, it makes it a tough call on which way to go.

But we love it there and hope to have something that we can enjoy.

We recently rented a house just south and west of Sunriver (Cascade lakes Hiway west) to live in while we build.
It appears that a number of homes in the area are vacation type homes. Our new landlord is a realtor, well known in the area, If you would like I would be happy to PM his contact info.

Default We finally might have found our place

I just wanted to update this thread and let everyone know that after 6 months of looking and understanding exactly what we can and can not do with our land, we are in escrow on a parcel of land.

It wasn't easy that is for sure but we are excited to finally have a little piece of Bend.

We are absolutely thrilled and are just waiting for the septic feasibility to be completed.
