I have live here three years and CANNOT find someone to give me a nice hairdo!!!! One lady did an excellent job w/cut AND highlights for the first time; after that I just don't know what happened. The FINAL time I went to her, the cut was impossible to deal with and the highlights didn't even show!?!?!??! The last time I had my hair cut was in DECEMBER, and it was so horrid/short my DH barely looked at me for two weeks!!!!!!!! People were laughing at me in the grocery, for real! This was a high$$$ cut, too.

I am not that picky and always allow them to BASICALLY do what they think is best , and everyone always says I have great hair to work with then they CUT IT ALL OFF!

PLUS I always gave that first girl excellent tips to try to stay 'on her good side!'

Any clues to what the or my prob is?

At my age about all I have left is decent legs and 'should be' pretty hair

Aloha Hoosier Girl,
I know exactly how you feel. My hairdresser moved to the Big Island and I have been unable to replace her. I just sold their home in Kapahulu and they are building a new home in Puna. If you want I can give you her email address, but not in this public forum. I am new to this site, so not sure how this works. Me ke aloha pumehana

Red face Soon to be moving to Hilo

I would say, Hey, I will do your hair! I am a hairdresser of 20 years and love my clients. Sounds like they need some good cosmetologists over there. I just need to find out if we can afford to move over. I would love to work in a fun salon that really caters to the clients and puts them first. I owned my own salon for about 15 years, got divorced and have been doing it part time. I am sorry your 'lady' didn't take care of you. It seems that hairdressers now a days aren't serious enough about their craft, which is an art and don't give their clients what they need. Sad....
So, if anyone or you know about the cost of living, auto costs, and most importantly, housing, apartment ok; then maybe we can move over. My husband got a job offer to drive truck in Hilo so we are considering it!
